Heat index hits 45 degrees Celsius in Roxas City on Sunday
PAGASA’s synoptic station in Roxas City in Capiz recorded the highest heat index in the country on Sunday at 45 degrees Celsius.
According to the weather bureau, Roxas City was followed by Ambulong in Tanauan City, Cotabato City, Dagupan City, Sangley Point in Cavite City, and Zamboanga City with 44ºC heat index.

PAGASA warned that a heat index ranging from 41ºC to 54ºC may lead to heat cramps and exhaustion.
Heat stroke is also possible amid continuous physical activity, PAGASA added.
Meanwhile, the heat index reached 41ºC at the Science Garden in Quezon City at 11 a.m. on Sunday.

PAGASA also recorded a maximum temperature of 34.8ºC in the area at 1:50 p.m.
