Cloudy skies, isolated rains forecast over Metro Manila and most of the Philippines


The ridge of a High Pressure Area (HPA) is extending over northern Luzon while the easterlies will be affecting the rest of the country on Friday, PAGASA reported in its early morning forecast.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to the easterlies / localized thunderstorms. The weather bureau added that flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast for extreme northern Luzon is light to moderate moving southwestward while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

In Visayas and Mindanao, wind speed will be light to moderate moving in the east to southeast direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

The wind speed for the rest of Luzon is light to moderate moving in the southeast to south direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

The sunrise will be at 5:26 a.m. while sunset will be 6:23 p.m. -- BAP, GMA News
