Cavite City records day's highest heat index at 47°C
The synoptic station at Sangley Point, Cavite City recorded Tuesday's highest heat index at 47°C, according to PAGASA.
The state weather bureau also reported the heat indexes at the stations in Dagupan City with 46°C, Ambulong, Tanauan City and NAIA, Pasay City with 44°C, and Laoag City, Legazpi City, and the Science City of Munoz with 43°C.
The heat index or the temperature felt by an individual, measures "human discomfort." It is computed by factoring in the humidity and the air temperature.
Due to this, heat cramps and heat exhaustion are possible. This may lead to heat stroke amid continued physical activity.

Meanwhile, the station at the Science Garden, Quezon City reported a heat index of 40°C at 2 p.m.
A maximum temperature of 33.4°C was also recorded at the same time.
