ITCZ to bring scattered rains, thunderstorms in many parts of the country
The Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated early Wednesday morning at 75 kilometers east of Borongan City, eastern Samar and embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting Palawan and Visayas, according to the morning forecast of PAGASA.
Meanwhile, the southwesterly windflow will be affecting Mindanao.
Marinduque, Romblon, Bicol Region, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Davao Region, Central and Eastern Visayas will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the LPA / ITCZ.
The weather bureau adds that flash floods or landslides may occur in these areas during severe thunderstorms.
Western Visayas and the rest of Mindanao will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the southwesterly windflow with the possibility that flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms as flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.
The wind speed forecast in the Bicol Region and eastern Visayas is light to moderate moving in the northeast to northwest direction.
Mindanao and the rest of Visayas wind forecast is light to moderate moving southwestward.
The wind speed forecast for Palawan is light to moderate moving in the southwest to southeast direction while the rest of Luzon wind forecast is light to moderate moving in the northeast to east direction. The coastal waters in the country is slight to moderate.
