LPA to bring rains, thunderstorms over Visayas, Mindanao

A low pressure area (LPA) and the southwesterly windflow are expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered to widespread rains and thunderstorms over the Bicol Region, Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, Northern Mindanao and Caraga, PAGASA said Wednesday.

In its 24-hour forecast, the weather agency said the LPA will also bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, and the rest of Mindanao.

The LPA was estimated at 30 kilometers east of Borongan City, Eastern Samar at 3 p.m.

PAGASA warned affected residents that flash floods or landslides are possible during moderate to heavy rains.

Localized thunderstorms may, meanwhile, bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over the rest of Luzon.

Flash floods or landslides are also possible during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the PAGASA synoptic station at the Science Garden, Quezon City recorded a minimum temperature of 24.5°C at 6 a.m. and a maximum temperature of 33°C at 3 p.m. —LDF, GMA News
