Many parts of the Philippines will be cloudy with scattered rains due to LPA, southwesterly windflow


As of 3 a.m. on Thursday, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 50 kilometers east northeast of Virac, Catanduanes or 245 km north northwest of Borongan City, Eastern Samar, PAGASA reported in its early morning forecast.

The southwesterly windflow, meanwhile, will be affecting Palawan, Western Visayas, and Mindanao.

Metro Manila, Visayas, Central Luzon, Bicol Region, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, and Isabela will have cloudy skies with scattered to widespread rains and thunderstorms due to the LPA / Southwesterly Windflow. The weather bureau warns that flash floods or landslides may occur during moderate to heavy rains.

Mindanao and the rest of Cagayan Valley will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms also due to the LPA / Southwesterly Windflow as flash floods or landslides may occur during moderate with at times heavy rains.

The rest of Luzon will be partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms with the possibility that flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast for the Bicol Region and Visayas is moderate moving in the southwest to south direction while coastal waters will be moderate.

In Palawan and Mindanao, wind speed is light to moderate moving in the southwest to southward direction while coastal waters are slight to moderate.

For the rest of Luzon wind speed will be light to moderate moving in the northeast to northwest direction while coastal waters will remain slight to moderate.
