TD Butchoy to bring heavy rains over Marinduque, Oriental Mindoro


PAGASA has raised a red rainfall warning over Marinduque on Thursday afternoon due to Tropical Depression Butchoy.

Under this alert, affected residents are advised to take action as serious flooding is expected in flood-prone areas and near river channels while landslides are also possible in some areas, the weather bureau said.

Meanwhile, an orange warning has been raised over Oriental Mindoro.

Under this alert, flooding is "threatening" in low-lying areas and near river channels and landslides are threatening in landslide-prone areas.

A yellow rainfall warning has also been raised over Quezon, Romblon and Northern Samar where flooding is "possible" in low-lying areas and near river channels and landslides in mountainous areas.

Meanwhile, light to moderate with occasional heavy rains are expected over Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, and Bulacan within the next two to three hours.

As of posting time, the same weather conditions are being experienced over Metro Manila, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Tarlac, which may persist within two to three hours and affect nearby areas.

Moderate rains are also being experienced over Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Masbate, including Ticao and Burias Island, which may persist within two to three hours.
