Southwest monsoon to bring rains over southern Luzon –PAGASA
The southwest monsoon is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Cavite, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan, state weather bureau PAGASA said Saturday.
In its 24-hour forecast, the weather agency warned of possible flash floods or landslides due to scattered to moderate to, at times, heavy rains.
Meanwhile, Easterlies or warm winds from the Pacific Ocean may also bring cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms over the Bicol Region and Eastern Visayas.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers may meanwhile prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country due to localized thunderstorms.
Flash floods and landslides are also possible, according to PAGASA.
Tropical Storm Butchoy (Nuri), exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Friday evening.
At 3 p.m. Saturday, it was estimated at 735 kilometers west of Northern Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 90 kph. —LBG, GMA News
