LPA, ITCZ to bring cloudy skies, scattered rains over Metro Manila, nearby provinces


As of 3 a.m. on Saturday, a Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 60 kilometers west of Ambulong, Batangas and embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting Central and Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

PAGASA reported that Metro Manila, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, La Union and Pangasinan will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms brought about by the LPA/ ITCZ. Flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM and SOCCSKSARGEN will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to ITCZ with the possibility of flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms. Flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast for central and southern Luzon will be light to moderate moving in the southwest to southeast direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

Wind speed for the rest of Luzon will be light to moderate and moving in the southeast to south direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

The wind speed in the Visayas and Mindanao will be light and moving in the southeast to variable direction while coastal waters will remain slight.
