Massive cloud formation seen from Daanbantayan in Cebu

An explosion of white majestic clouds has conquered the sky from Daanbantayan in Cebu.

According to YouScooper John Reco Estrera, he took photos of what is known as a supercell cloud.

John said the cloud formation seen from Daanbantayan, Cebu, formed above the west coast of Leyte and south coast of Malapascua Island.

The photos were taken at 8:22 p.m. yesterday.

According to Science Direct, supercell “is a type of storm that can last a long time and travel considerable distances, often producing tornadoes and often producing long swaths of large, damaging hailstones.”

On Wednesday, Pagasa said warm easterly winds from the Pacific Ocean and localized thunderstorms were expected to bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers over Metro Manila and the rest of the country. – Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/RC, GMA News
