LPA to bring rains, thunderstorms over Davao, SOCCSKSARGEN, Palawan

A low pressure area (LPA) and the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Davao, SOCCSKSARGEN, and Palawan, PAGASA said Wednesday.

In its 24-hour forecast, the weather agency warned affected residents of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

At 3 p.m. on Wednesday, the LPA was estimated at 760 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.

Meanwhile, ITCZ and localized thunderstorms may bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

Flash floods and landslides are also possible, PAGASA said.

The PAGASA synoptic station at the Science Garden, Quezon City recorded a minimum temperature of 24.2°C at 2 a.m. and a maximum temperature of 32.4°C at 3:30 p.m.

PAGASA warned that moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are expected over Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Batangas, and Rizal within the next two hours.

As of posting time, the weather agency said that the same conditions are currently being experienced in Tagkawayan, Gumaca, Pitogo, and Unisan in Quezon, which may persist within two hours and affect nearby areas.

Affected residents are advised to take precautionary measures against flash floods or landslides. —LDF, GMA News
