ITCZ, thunderstorms to bring rains over Metro Manila, rest of the country

Metro Manila and the rest of the country may expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms on Sunday, PAGASA said in its early morning forecast.

These are due to localized thunderstorms and the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), the area where winds from the northern and southern hemisphere meet.

"ITCZ is affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao," PAGASA said.

The weather bureau warned of flash floods or landslides that may occur during severe thunderstorms.

Coastal waters will be slight to moderate in Luzon, and slight in Visayas and Mindanao.

Sunrise will be at 5:38 a.m. while sunset will be at 6:27 p.m. —KG, GMA News
