Enteng to bring rains over Bicol; Habagat to affect parts of Luzon, Visayas

Tropical Depression Enteng is expected to bring scattered and at times heavy rains over the Bicol Region on Saturday, PAGASA said in its 11 a.m. severe weather bulletin.

The southeast monsoon or habagat, meanwhile, will bring rains over Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, Mindoro Provinces, Romblon, and Northern Palawan (including Calamian, Cuyo, and Kalayaan Islands) and occasional rains over Pangasinan, Metro Manila, Western Visayas, and the rest of Central Luzon, MIMAROPA, and CALABARZON.

PAGASA warned residents of possible flooding and rain-induced landslides especially during heavy rainfall.

Enteng slightly intensified as it moved northward over the Philippine Sea.

However it will remain far from the Philippine landmass.

Enteng is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Sunday afternoon.

As of 10 a.m., Enteng was located 420 km east northeast of Casiguran, Aurora or 445 km east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

It has maximum winds of 55 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 70 km/h.

Enteng is moving northward at 25 km/h.

Meanwhile, PAGASA is also monitoring a low pressure area (LPA) located 280 km west of Subic, Zambales as of 10 a.m. The LPA is "less likely" to intensify into a tropical depression in the next 24 hours.

Coastal waters will be moderate to rough over the seaboards of Luzon and Visayas, making it dangerous for small seacraft to venture out to sea. —KG, GMA News
