Cloudy skies, rains, thunderstorms over provinces in the western section of the country due to LPA, habagat


A Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 30 kilometers north of Daet, Camarines Norte and the effects of the southwest monsoon will be felt in the western section of the country on Thursday, PAGASA reported.

Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Bicol Region, CALABARZON and Eastern Visayas will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the LPA. Flash floods or landslides may occur in these areas due to moderate with at times heavy rains.

MIMAROPA, Western and Central Visayas and Zamboanga Peninsula will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms brought about by the southwest monsoon with the possibility of flash floods or landslides occurring due to moderate with at times heavy rains.

The rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms and flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast for extreme northern Luzon is moderate and moving east to northeast while coastal waters will be moderate.

Bicol Region, Visayas and Mindanao wind speed is moderate moving southwestward while coastal waters will be moderate.

In the western section of Luzon, the wind speed will be light to moderate and moving in the southwest to south direction with the coastal waters slight to moderate.

The wind speed in the rest of Luzon is light to moderate and moving in the northeast to northwest direction with the coastal waters slight to moderate.
