Tropical Depression Igme, Habagat to bring rains over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, CAR, Cagayan Valley, central Luzon, Rizal


Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon and the province of Rizal will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms brought about by Tropical Depression Igme and southwest monsoon, PAGASA reported. 

Flash floods or landslides may occur in these areas due to moderate with at times heavy rains.

The center of Tropical Depression Igme early Saturday morning was estimated at 285 kilometers north northeast of Basco, Batanes with maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kph.

Igme is forecast to move northward at 15 kph.

The southwest monsoon, meanwhile, will be affecting Luzon.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms with the possibility that flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast for the western and northern sections of northern Luzon  is moderate to strong and moving southwestward while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

The rest of Luzon will have a moderate wind speed moving in the southwest to south direction while coastal waters will remain moderate.

The wind speed for the rest of the country is light to moderate moving in the southeast to south direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
