Habagat to bring scattered rains, thunderstorms over Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro
The southwest monsoon will be affecting central and southern Luzon on Tuesday, PAGASA reported.
Meanwhile, as of 3 a.m. a Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based at 775 kilometers East of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.
Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms brought about by the southwest monsoon with the possibility of flash floods or landslides to occur due to scattered moderate with at times heavy rains.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to the southwest monsoon and localized thunderstorms. Flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.
The weather bureau is monitoring active tropical cyclones outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), Typhoon Maysak (formerly Julian) estimated at 785 kilometers north northeast of extreme northern Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 175 kilometers per hour with gustiness of up to 215 kph and moving north northwestward at 25 kph.
A tropical depression is situated 2,415 kilometers east of extreme northern Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph with gustiness of up to 70 kph and moving southwestward at 15 kph.
The northern and eastern sections of Luzon will have moderate to strong wind speed moving southwestward while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
In the Visayas and the rest of Luzon, wind speed forecast is light to moderate moving southwestward while coastal waters remain slight to moderate.
In Mindanao, the wind speed forecast is light to moderate moving in the southeast to southwest direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
