Metro Manila, rest of Philippines to experience isolated rain showers

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers may prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country due to localized thunderstorms, PAGASA said Saturday.

In its 24-hour forecast, the weather agency warned of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the PAGASA synoptic station at the Science Garden, Quezon City recorded a minimum temperature of 25.2°C at 5:50 a.m. and a maximum temperature of 34.6°C at 2:30 p.m.

At 3 p.m. on Saturday, the eye of Typhoon Kristine was located at 1,075 kilometers northeast of extreme Northern Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 185 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 230 kph.

It is moving northwestward at 15 kph.

A severe weather bulletin on Kristine will be issued at 11 p.m. on Saturday.  —Joahna Lei Casilao/LBG, GMA News
