Isolated rainshowers to prevail over Metro Manila, rest of Philippines

The ridge of a high pressure area (HPA) and localized thunderstorms are expected to bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers over Metro Manila and the rest of the country, PAGASA said Tuesday.

In its 24-hour forecast, the weather agency warned affected residents of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

PAGASA said the ridge of HPA is affecting Northern and Central Luzon.

Meanwhile, the synoptic station at the Science Garden, Quezon City recorded a minimum temperature of 25.2°C at 5 a.m. and a maximum temperature of 33.9°C at 1:50 p.m.

In its 3:31 p.m. thunderstorm advisory, PAGASA warned that moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are expected over Bulacan and Laguna within the next two hours.

As of posting time, the weather conditions are being experienced over Palauig, Iba, and Botolan in Zambales; Magallanes and Maragondon in Cavite; Nasugbu in Batangas; and Tagkawayan in Quezon, which may persist within two hours and affect nearby areas.

Affected residents were advised to take precautionary measures against flash floods or landslides. — Joahna Lei Casilao/BM, GMA News
