Cloudy skies, scattered rains over Palawan, parts of Visayas, Mindanao due to LPA, habagat


The Caraga region, central and eastern Visayas will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms brought about by the Low Pressure Area (LPA) early Wednesday morning was estimated at 365 kilometers east of Catarman, Northern Samar and the southwest monsoon, PAGASA reported in forecast.

These areas, the weather bureau adds, may experience flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms and flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

The bureau is also monitoring the active tropical cyclone outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, the Severe Tropical Storm Dolphin (formerly Marce) which will not be affecting the country.

Severe Tropical Storm Dolphin was spotted at 1,805 kilometers northeast of extreme northern Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 100 kilometers per hour and gustiness up to 125 kph moving in the north northeast direction at 15 kph.

Palawan, Visayas and Mindanao will have a light to moderate wind speed moving southwestward while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

The rest of Luzon will have light to moderate wind speed moving in the northeast to northwest direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

The sun will rise by about 5:45 a.m. and set by 5:51 p.m. -- BAP, GMA News
