Trough of LPA to bring cloudy skies, scattered rains over Batanes, Cagayan, Babuyan Group of Islands


The effects of the southwest monsoon will be felt in Palawan and Visayas on Thursday, PAGASA reported in its early morning forecast.

Batanes and Cagayan including the Babuyan Group of Islands will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms brought about by the Trough of the Low Pressure Area (LPA) with the possibility that flash floods or landslides will occur during severe thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to the southwest monsoon and localized thunderstorms with the possibility that flash floods or landslides will occur during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast in extreme northern Luzon is moderate to strong moving northeastward while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

In central Luzon and the rest of northern Luzon wind speed is light to moderate moving in the northeast to northwest direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

The rest of the country will have light to moderate wind speed moving in the southwest to west direction while coastal waters will remain slight to moderate.
