LPA to bring rain, thunderstorms over 3 areas in Luzon

The trough of a low-pressure area (LPA) is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Batanes, Isabela, and Cagayan, including the Babuyan Group of Islands, according to PAGASA.

In its 24-hour forecast, the weather agency warned affected residents of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

At 3 p.m. on Thursday, the LPA was estimated at 965 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes.

The southwest monsoon and localized thunderstorms may, meanwhile, bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

Flash floods and landslides are also possible.

PAGASA said the southwest monsoon is affecting the western section of Southern Luzon and Visayas.

Meanwhile, the synoptic station at the Science Garden, Quezon City recorded a minimum temperature of 25.1°C at 6:30 a.m. and a maximum temperature of 33°C at 1:50 p.m. — Joahna Lei Casilao/BM, GMA News
