Habagat to bring rains, thunderstorms over 5 areas

The southwest monsoon is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, Northern Mindanao, the Zamboanga Peninsula, and BARMM, according to PAGASA on Friday.

In its 24-hour forecast, the weather agency warned affected residents of possible flash floods or landslides due to scattered light to moderate to, at times, heavy rains.

Meanwhile, the northeasterly surface windflow may bring cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, and Central Luzon.

PAGASA said it has no significant impact on the country.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers may also prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country due to localized thunderstorms and the southwest monsoon.

Flash floods and landslides are possible during severe thunderstorms, the state weather agency said.

The PAGASA synoptic station at the Science Garden, Quezon City recorded a minimum temperature of 24°C at 6 a.m. and a maximum temperature of 32.8°C at 1:50 p.m.—AOL, GMA News
