Pepito to bring rains, thunderstorms over 9 areas
The trough of Severe Tropical Storm Pepito is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Batanes, Babuyan Islands, La Union, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, and the Zamboanga Peninsula, according to PAGASA on Wednesday.
In its 24-hour forecast, the state weather agency warned of possible flash floods or landslides due to scattered light to moderate rains.
At 3 p.m. on Wednesday, the center of Pepito was estimated at 265 kilometers west of Dagupan City, Pangasinan with maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 115 kph.
It is moving westward at 15 kph.
A severe weather bulletin on Pepito is set to be released at 5 p.m.
Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers may prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country due to localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA said flash floods and landslides are possible during severe thunderstorms.
A tropical depression outside the Philippine area of responsibility was also estimated at 1,870 km east northeast of extreme Northern Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph and gustiness of up to 70 kph.
