Trough of Typhoon Rolly to bring cloudy skies, scattered rains over Visayas, Bicol Region, Northern Mindanao, Caraga


Visayas, Bicol Region, Northern Mindanao and Caraga will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms brought about by the Trough of Typhoon Rolly with possible flash floods and landslides during moderate to heavy rains on Friday, PAGASA reported in its early morning forecast.

As of 3:00 a.m. on Friday, the eye of Typhoon Rolly was estimated at 1,195 kilometers east of Central Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 140 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness up to 170 kph and moving westward at 20 kph.

Batanes and Cagayan will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the northeasterly Surface Windflow with possible flash floods and landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms with possible flash floods and landslides during severe thunderstorms.

The weather bureau is also monitoring Tropical Storm Atsani, which is outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility at 2,320 kilometers east of Mindanao with maximum sustained winds of 65 kph and gustiness up to 80 kph and moving north northwestward at 20 kph.

The wind speed forecast for Luzon is moderate to strong moving northeastward with moderate to rough coastal waters.

The rest of the country will have moderate to rough wind speed moving in the northeast to northwest direction with moderate to rough coastal waters.
