Rains in Bicol on Saturday night before Rolly makes landfall on Sunday


Rolly is expected to make landfall in the Aurora-Quezon area on Sunday night or Monday before dawn, PAGASA has said of the track of the typhoon.

According to GMA Resident Meteorologist Nathaniel "Mang Tani" Cruz, Rolly will cross Central Luzon including areas that have yet to recover from tropical cyclone Quinta.

On Saturday night, Rolly will cause rains in Bicol and Eastern Visayas.

On Sunday early morning, the rains will become heavier in Bicol, Aurora, Quezon and Cagayan Valley.

Rolly's winds is expected to become even stronger on Sunday.

PAGASA also warned of two-meter high storm surges in Quezon, Marinduque, Bicol and Northern Samar.

In Metro Manila, rains will still be light on Saturday but will become stronger on Sunday.

Signal No. 3 is expected to be raised in the region on Sunday.

On Sunday night, a tropical cyclone which will be named Siony is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility. 

Siony was estimated to be 1,865 kilometers east of the Visayas on Friday night.

Siony is expected to gain strength as it moves through the waters. It is still uncertain if Siony would make landfall. -Ma. Angelica Garcia/NB, GMA news
