Siony, Rolly to bring scattered rains in several parts of the country
The troughs of Tropical Storms Siony and Rolly are expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over several parts of the country, PAGASA said Monday.
In its 24-hour forecast, the state weather bureau said the trough of Siony will bring rains over Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, and Ilocos Norte.
Meanwhile, Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, Palawan, Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi will experience rains due to the trough of Rolly.
PAGASA advised affected residents to prepare for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains.
The center of Rolly was located 225 kilometers west of Iba, Zambales at 3 p.m. with maximum sustained winds of 65 km per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph. It is moving north northwestward at 15 kph.
Meanwhile, the center of Siony was last seen 655 km east of Calayan, Cagayan with maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph. It is moving northward at 25 kph.
PAGASA said localized thunderstorms will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
Flash floods or landslides are also possible during severe thunderstorms, PAGASA said.
Moreover, moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal water conditions will prevail in Northern Luzon, and the western section of Central and Southern Luzon.
The rest of the country, meanwhile, will have moderate winds and moderate to rough waters.—AOL, GMA News
