LPA east of Surigao del Sur seen to develop into TD Ulysses
A low-pressure area (LPA) east of Surigao del Sur may intensify into tropical depression Ulysses within the next 24 to 36 hours, PAGASA said Sunday afternoon.
In its 4 p.m. weather advisory, the bureau said the LPA was last located 920 kilometers east of Hinatuan.
It is likely to move generally north-northwestward until Monday evening, then northwestward to west-northwestward towards the Central-Southern Luzon area.
The weather disturbance is currently not affecting any portion of the country.
However, it may bring rains over the eastern sections of Luzon and Visayas starting Monday afternoon as it approaches landmass.
Weather forecast
Meanwhile, PAGASA said cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms should be expected in Palawan including the Calamian and Kalayaan Islands in the next 24 hours due to Tropical Depression Tonyo.
The trough of the cyclone and the Northeast Monsoon will also cause cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos Region, and Aurora.
Localized thunderstorms were also seen to bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
PAGASA advised the public to prepare for possible flash floods or landslides. — Julia Mari Ornedo/BM, GMA News
