Trough of Ulysses to affect Bicol, Eastern Visayas, Quezon —PAGASA

The trough of Tropical Storm Ulysses is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas and Quezon, PAGASA said Monday afternoon.

In its 24-hour forecast, the weather bureau said Ulysses was located 575 kilometers east of Borongan, Eastern Samar at 3 p.m. with maximum sustained winds of 65 km per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph. It is moving northwestward at 15 kph.

Meanwhile, PAGASA said Ilocos Norte, Apayao, Batanes and Cagayan will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the tail end of a cold front.

PAGASA advised affected residents to prepare for possible flash floods and landslides during moderate to, at times, heavy rains.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers will also prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country due to localized thunderstorms.

Flash floods and landslides are also possible in these areas during severe thunderstorms, PAGASA warned.

Moreover, moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal water conditions will prevail over Northern Luzon and the eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon and of Visayas.

The  western sections of Central and Southern Luzon and the rest of the country, meanwhile, will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate waters.—LDF, GMA News
