Scattered rainshowers, thunderstorms to prevail over 8 areas

Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms are expected to prevail over the Cagayan Valley, Bicol Region, Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, and the provinces of Kalinga, Apayao, Aurora, and Quezon, PAGASA said Wednesday.

In its 24-hour forecast, the weather agency said this is due to the tail-end of a frontal system and the trough of a low-pressure area (LPA). The LPA was last estimated at 100 kilometers east of Juban, Sorsogon.

PAGASA warned affected residents of possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to heavy rains.

Meanwhile, the Northeast Monsoon is expected to bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

It has no significant impact on the country, according to the weather agency.

The rest of Mindanao may also experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA said severe thunderstorms may cause flash floods or landslides.

The synoptic station at the Science Garden, Quezon City recorded a minimum temperature of 24.2°C at 6:30 a.m. and a maximum temperature of 30.6°C at 1:50 p.m. — Joahna Lei Casilao/BM, GMA News
