LPA to bring rains, thunderstorms over 3 areas
A low pressure area (LPA) is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Mindanao, Eastern Visayas, and Central Visayas, according to PAGASA on Thursday.
In its 24-hour forecast, the weather agency said flash floods or landslides are possible during moderate to heavy rains.
The LPA was estimated at 395 kilometers east-southeast of Davao City, Davao del Sur at 3 p.m.
Meanwhile, cloudy skies with rains may prevail over the Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, the Bicol Region, Aurora, and Quezon due to the northeast monsoon.
PAGASA warned affected residents of possible flash floods or landslides.
The monsoon may also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of the country. It has no significant impact on said areas.
Western Visayas may, meanwhile, experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms.
The weather agency said flash floods or landslides are possible during severe thunderstorms.
