Tropical Depression Vicky to bring rains, gusty winds over parts of the Visayas, Mindanao
The low pressure area (LPA) off Davao City developed into a tropical depression before dawn Friday and is set to bring rains, gusty winds over parts of the Visayas and Mindanao, according to PAGASA.
As of 3 a.m. on Friday, Tropical Depression Vicky was estimated at 220 kilometers east of Davao City with maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 55 kph and moving west northwestward at 15 kph.
Central and Western Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Davao Region, Southern Leyte, and Zamboanga del Norte will experience rains with gusty winds brought about by the tropical depression with possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to heavy rains.
Bicol Region, Marinduque, Romblon, Mindoro Provinces, and the rest of Visayas and Mindanao will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the Tail - end of a Cold Front and tropical depression as flash floods or landslides may occur during moderate to heavy rains.
Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, CALABARZON, and Aurora will have cloudy skies with rains due to northeast monsoon with possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to heavy rains.
The rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to northeast monsoon with no significant impact.
Luzon, Visayas, eastern section of Mindanao will have moderate to strong wind speed moving northeast to east direction while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
The rest of Mindanao will have light to moderate wind speed moving in the northeast to northwest direction while coastal waters will remain slight to moderate.
