Yellow rainfall warning up over Sulu, Tawi-Tawi
PAGASA raised the yellow rainfall warning over Sulu and Tawi-Tawi before noon on Saturday due to heavy rains from the trough of a low pressure area.
The rainfall warning was issued at 11:20 a.m.
The weather bureau said flooding and landslides are possible in areas prone to these hazards.
Light to at times moderate rains meanwhile are being felt over Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Dinagat Islands, Agusan del Norte (Butuan and Magallanes), Agusan del Sur (Sibagat, Bayugan and Prosperidad), Davao Oriental, Zamboanga del Norte (Baliguian, Siocon, Godod and Leon B. Postigo), Zamboanga del Sur (Bayog, Kumalarang and Midsalip), Zamboanga Sibugay (Siay, Kabalasan and Roseller) and nearby areas.
The rains may persist for two to three hours, PAGASA said.
The weather bureau advised the public and disaster risk reduction and management councils concerned to take the necessary precautions and monitor the weather condition.
