Orange rainfall warning up over Samar; yellow over Palawan, Leyte, Mindoro

PAGASA raised the orange rainfall warning over Eastern Samar and Samar on Sunday morning and the yellow rainfall warning over Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, Occidental Mindoro, Leyte and Southern Leyte.

This is due to heavy rains from the trough of a low pressure area.

The weather bureau said flooding and landslides are threatening in low-lying and mountainous areas in places under orange rainfall warning.

Meanwhile, flooding and landslides are possible in areas under yellow rainfall warning, in low lying and mountainous areas.

Residents and disaster risk reduction and management councils concerned are advised to take the appropriate actions, monitor the weather and await the 8 a.m. advisory for the next update. —KG, GMA News
