Metro Manila, 8 other areas to have scattered rains due to LPA trough


The trough of low pressure area (LPA) will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Aurora, Bulacan, Calabarzon, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, Caraga and Visayas on Sunday, PAGASA said.

Flash floods or landslides may be possible during moderate to heavy rains.

Cagayan Valley and the Cordillera Administrative Region will also have cloudy skies with rains due to the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan).

These areas may also possibly have flash floods or landslides.

The Ilocos Region meanwhile will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rain due to the Northeast Monsoon.

The rest of the country on the other hand will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

During severe thunderstorms, flash floods or landslides are possible in these areas.

At 3 a.m., one LPA was located 95 km east of Catarman, Northern Samar.

Another LPA was located at 55 km west southwest of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

Coastal waters will be moderate to rough in Northern Luzon, with waves up to 4 meters.

The waters will also be moderate to rough (with wave heights up to 4 meters) in the eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon.

Elsewhere in the country, coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

Sunrise will be at 6:19 a.m. while sunset will be at 5:35 p.m. —KG, GMA News
