Eastern Visayas, Caraga to have rains due to tail-end of frontal system, LPA
Eastern Visayas and Caraga will have moderate to heavy rains on Saturday due to the tail-end of a frontal system and a low pressure area, PAGASA said.
The Bicol Region, Davao Oriental, and the rest of Visayas meanwhile will have light to moderate rain showers which may be heavy at times during thunderstorms.
PAGASA said flooding (including flash floods) and rain-induced landslides may result during heavy or prolonged rainfall, especially in areas prone to these hazards or in areas that have received a significant amount of rain the past few days or weeks.
Even without rain, areas that are adjacent or near river channels may experience flooding.
At 10 a.m., the LPA was located 245 km east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar.
The LPA is less likely to become a tropical depression, PAGASA said.
The tail-end of a frontal system continues to affect the eastern part of Southern Luzon.
PAGASA advised the public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned to take the necessary actions and await the next weather forecast at 4 p.m. on Saturday. —KG, GMA News
