PAGASA: Amihan, ITCZ to cast cloudy skies with light rains over Philippines
An Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan would cast cloudy skies with light rains over the Philippines within the next 24 hours, PAGASA said late Wednesday afternoon.
In its 4 p.m. bulletin, the state weather bureau said the ITCZ was affecting Mindanao, while Luzon was affected by Amihan.
Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms were forecast over Mindanao, while partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers were seen to prevail over the Visayas.
PAGASA told residents of these islands to prepare for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains or severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, Amihan was expected to bring cloudy skies with light rains over the Cagayan Valley and the Cordillera Administrative Region, as well as partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
No significant impact is expected in these areas. — Julia Mari Ornedo/RSJ, GMA News
