LPA to bring rains, thunderstorms over Visayas, Mindanao
Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms are expected to prevail over Visayas and Mindanao on Tuesday due to a low pressure area (LPA) and the tail-end of a frontal system, according to PAGASA.
In its 24-hour forecast, the weather agency warned affected residents that flash floods or landslides are possible due to moderate to heavy rains.
At 3 p.m. on Tuesday, the LPA was estimated at 160 kilometers southeast of General Santos City.
It is less likely to develop into a tropical depression in the next 48 hours, according to PAGASA’s 11 a.m. weather advisory.
Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon may bring cloudy skies with light rains over CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, and the Bicol Region as well as partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
PAGASA said the monsoon has no significant impact on the affected areas.
