Easterlies to bring rains, thunderstorms over three areas

Warm winds from the Pacific Ocean called the easterlies are expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and isolated thunderstorms over the Visayas, Northern Mindanao and Caraga, PAGASA said on Thursday.

In its 24-hour forecast, the weather agency warned affected residents against possible flash floods or landslides during moderate with at times heavy rains.

Meanwhile, cloudy skies with rains may prevail over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, and the provinces of Aurora and Quezon due to the northeast monsoon.

Flash floods or landslides are also possible, PAGASA said.

The monsoon may also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon. It has no significant impact on the affected areas.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers may also prevail over the rest of Mindanao due to localized thunderstorms.

The weather agency said flash floods or landslides are also possible during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the synoptic station at the Science Garden, Diliman, Quezon City recorded a minimum temperature of 23.5°C at 6:15 a.m. and a maximum temperature of 29.6° at 1:50 p.m.—Joahna Lei Casilao/LDF, GMA News
