LPA to bring rains, thunderstorms over 7 areas

A low pressure area (LPA) is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Visayas, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, and CALABARZON, according to PAGASA on Friday.

In its 24-hour forecast, the weather agency warned affected residents against possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to, at times, heavy rains.

At 3 p.m., the LPA was estimated based on all available data at 100 kilometers west-southwest of Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon may bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Batanes and the Babuyan Islands.

It has no significant impact on the affected areas.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers may, meanwhile, prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country due to the localized thunderstorms.

The weather agency said flash floods or landslides may occur due to severe thunderstorms.
