LPA, easterlies to bring rains over Mindanao, Palawan

Mindanao and Palawan will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the low pressure area or the easterlies, PAGASA said Thursday afternoon.

In its 24-hour forecast, the weather agency said the LPA was located 85 kilometers southeast of General Santos City at 3 p.m.

PAGASA advised affected residents to prepare for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to, at times, heavy rains.

Meanwhile, the easterlies will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

Flash floods or landslides are also possible during severe thunderstorms, PAGASA said.

Further, light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal water conditions will prevail over Mindanao, Northern Luzon, and the rest of the country.

The PAGASA synoptic station at the Science Garden in Quezon City also reported a minimum temperature of 23.5°C at 7 a.m. and a maximum temperature of 32.8°C at 2 p.m.
