Easterlies affecting most of the country, isolated rains expected

The easterlies or winds from the east are affecting most of the country on Sunday, PAGASA said in its early morning forecast.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country, except for Batanes and Babuyan Islands, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to the easterlies and localized thunderstorms.

Flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

Batanes and Babuyan Islands meanwhile will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeasterly surface windflow.

Coastal waters will be moderate over the seaboards in Extreme Northern Luzon, and slight to moderate in the rest of the country.

Sunrise was at 5:50 a.m. while sunset will be at 6:09 p.m. —KG, GMA News
