Isolated rainshowers, thunderstorms to prevail across Philippines

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms may prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country due to the Easterlies and localized thunderstorms, PAGASA said Tuesday.

In its 24-hour forecast, the weather agency warned against possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

The PAGASA synoptic station at the Science Garden, Diliman, Quezon City also recorded a minimum temperature of 23.6°C at 6 a.m. and a maximum temperature of 31.9°C at 3:50 p.m.

Meanwhile, a tropical depression was estimated at 1,290 kilometers east of Mindanao with maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kph at 3 p.m. on Tuesday.

It is moving westward at 20 kph.

PAGASA earlier said the tropical depression is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Friday or Saturday and will be called Bising. — Joahna Lei Casilao/BM, GMA News
