Southwest monsoon to bring scattered rains over Luzon, W.Visayas —PAGASA

The Southwest Monsoon or Habagat will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Luzon and Western Visayas, PAGASA said Sunday afternoon.

In its 24-hour forecast, the weather agency said Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Zambales, Bataan, Palawan, Mindoro Provinces, and Western Visayas will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the same weather condition will prevail over Mindanao due to the intertropical convergence zone.

PAGASA advised affected residents to prepare for possible flash floods or landslides due to scattered moderate to, at times, heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country, on the other hand, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

Flash floods or landslides are also possible due to severe thunderstorms.

The western section of Luzon will have moderate winds and moderate coastal water conditions, while the rest of the country will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate waters. — Ma. Angelica Garcia/BM, GMA News
