Southwest Monsoon to bring rains over Mimaropa, W. Visayas, Zambales, Bataan

The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) continues to affect Luzon on Monday and is expected to bring cloudy skies, scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Mimaropa, Western Visayas, Zambales and Bataan, PAGASA said in its early morning forecast.

Flash floods or landslides may occur during times of moderate to heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country meanwhile will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to the monsoon and localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA warned that flash floods or landslides may result after severe thunderstorms.

Coastal waters will be moderate to rough in Northern and Central Luzon, with waves reaching as tall as 3.1 meters.

Elsewhere in the country, coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
