Southwest monsoon will bring cloudy skies, scattered rains over parts of Luzon, western Visayas


The southwest monsoon on Tuesday will be affecting Luzon and Western Visayas, PAGASA reported.

Metro Manila, Western Visayas, Mindoro Provinces, Palawan, Cavite, Bataan, Zambales, and Pangasinan will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms brought about by the southwest monsoon with possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to the southwest monsoon / localized thunderstorms with possible flash floods or landslides due to severe thunderstorms.

The weather bureau is also monitoring an active tropical cyclone that is outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) early Tuesday morning located 2,460 kilometers east of southern Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 70 kph and moving in the north northeast direction at 25 kph.

The northern and western section of Luzon will experience moderate to strong wind speed moving southwestward while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

The rest of the country will have light to moderate wind speed moving in the south to southwest direction while coastal waters will remain slight to moderate.
