ITCZ to bring cloudy skies, rains across Philippines

The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will dampen areas throughout the country on Monday afternoon, the nation's weather bureau PAGASA said.

In a 4 p.m. weather forecast, PAGASA said the ITCZ will cause cloudy skies, scattered rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Bicol Region, Caraga, Davao Region, and the provinces of Apayao, Abra, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon.

According to PAGASA, scattered rain means rain showers in the bigger part of the area.

For the rest of the country, ITCZ will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains or thunderstorms. Isolated rain means rain showers only in a small part of the forecast area.

Likewise, the weather bureau warned of possible flash floods or landslides if thunderstorms worsen.

Coastal waters across the country were at slight to moderate, PAGASA said.
