2 areas still under Signal No. 3 as Kiko intensifies
At least two areas are under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 3 as Typhoon Kiko slightly intensified while approaching the Babuyan Islands-Batanes area, state weather bureau PAGASA said Friday.
In its 11 a.m. bulletin, PAGASA said the following areas are under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signals:

- extreme northeastern portion of Cagayan (Santa Ana, Gonzaga)
- eastern portion of Babuyan Islands (Babuyan Is., Didicas Is., Camiguin Is., Pamuktan Is., Calayan Is., Panulitan Is.)

- rest of Babuyan Islands
- tremaining eastern portion of mainland Cagayan (Aparri, Camalaniugan, Lal-Lo, Gattaran, Baggao, Peñablanca, Buguey, Santa Teresita, Tuguegarao City, Iguig, Amulung, Alcala, Allacapan, Lasam, Ballesteros, Abulug)
- northeastern portion of Isabela (San Pablo, Maconacon, Divilacan, Palanan)
- northeastern portion of Apayao (Flora, Santa Marcela, Luna, Pudtol)

- rest of mainland Cagayan

At 10 a.m., Kiko was located at 220 km Northeast of Casiguran, Aurora or 220 km East of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan with maximum sustained winds of 195 km/h, gustiness of up to 240 km/h, and central pressure of 930 hPa while moving West Northwestward at 20 km/h.
Pagasa said Kiko may still make a possible landfall over the northeastern portion of Cagayan.
According to PAGASA, Kiko is expected to move generally northwestward or north northwestward towards the Babuyan Islands-Batanes area.
It may also pass over the coastal waters of northeastern Cagayan between Friday afternoon and evening.
Kiko is also seen to traverse the vicinity of Babuyan Islands and Batanes or cross within their coastal waters Friday evening through Saturday afternoon or evening. —Joviland Rita/KBK, GMA News
