ITCZ, southwest monsoon to bring scattered rains over parts of the country

The intertropical convergence zone and the southwest monsoon will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Batanes and Babuyan Islands, PAGASA said Monday.

In its 24-hour forecast, the weather bureau advised affected residents to prepare for possible flash floods or landslides due to heavy to, at times, intense rains.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to the southwest monsoon or localized thunderstorms.

Flash floods or landslides are also possible due to severe thunderstorms, PAGASA added.

Further, moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal water conditions will prevail over the western section of Luzon, while light to moderate winds and slight to moderate waters will be experienced in the rest of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.—Ma. Angelica Garcia/LDF, GMA News
