Trough of Maring to bring light to moderate rains over eastern Visayas
The movement of Tropical Depression Maring remains erratic over the Philippine Sea on Friday, according to the weather bulletin posted by PAGASA.
As of 4 a.m., the center of Tropical Depression Maring was estimated at 595 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes or 540 km east of Catarman, Northern Samar with maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center, gustiness of up to 55 km/h, and central pressure of 1002 hPa and moving southward at a speed of 10 kph.
The weather bureau also reported that there are no Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal is currently in effect.
On Friday, eastern Visayas will experience light to moderate with at times heavy rains due to the trough of the tropical depression.
Light to moderate with at times heavy rains may begin affecting Occidental Mindoro, Palawan, and the rest of Visayas on Saturday as the southwesterlies are enhanced by the tropical depression begins to affect the central portion of the country.
There may be isolated scattered flooding (including flash floods) and rain-induced landslides over some areas, particularly those suceptible to these hazards.
In the next 24 hours, moderate rough seas will prevail over the seaboards of Luzon and the eastern and western seaboards of Visayas and Mindanao that may pose as a risk to small seacrafts.
TRACK AND INTENSITY OUTLOOK
Maring will continue move erratically over the next few hours and will move north northwestward on Saturday morning, then west northwestward on Saturday evening.
