Orange and yellow rainfall warnings up over parts of Palawan
PAGASA raised the orange and yellow rainfall warnings over parts of Palawan on Monday morning due to Tropical Storm Maring (international name: Kompasu) and the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).
At 8 a.m., the orange rainfall warning was hoisted over Balabac, Bataraza, Rizal, Brooke's Point, Sofronio Española, Quezon, Narra, Aborlan, Puerto Princesa, San Vicente, Roxas, Kalayaan Islands, and Cagayancillo in Palawan.
The orange rainfall advisory means rainfall expected within one hour is between 15 mm and 30 mm.
Flooding and landslides are threatening in areas prone to these areas.
Meanwhile, the yellow rainfall warning was raised over Dumaran, Aracelli, Taytay, El Nido, Linapacan, Culion, Busuanga, Coron, Agutaya, Magsaysay, and Cuyo in Palawan.
These areas may have between 7.5 mm and 15 mm amount of rainfall within one hour, which may likely continue.
Flooding and landslides are possible in areas prone to these hazards. —KG, GMA News
